Hi Fellow Quilters,
Welcome to the “Where Flowers Bloom” blog hop! We’d like to thank Carla, from Create in the Sticks for organizing the blog hop! We hope that you’ll enjoy our post, and also take time to visit the rest of the great blogs on the hop today.
I’ve always loved flowers! My flower garden leaves something to be desired at the moment, but that’s another post for a different day! When I was growing up, both of my grandmothers, my Mom, and my Aunts kept beautiful flower gardens. I took an interest in learning all of the flowers’ names at an early age. When I was in elementary school, I led my 3rd grade class on a little field trip along a hillside path near the school building. My teacher was SO impressed that I knew all of the names of all of the flowers. (Come to find out later, I had made up my own descriptive names for many of them. LOL!)
My love of flowers has merged with my love of quilts! I hope that you’ll enjoy seeing some of our favorite flowery quilts, featured on today’s post!
This colorful table runner features brilliant pieced flowers and easy appliqued leaves. I chose the flower colors by selecting my favorite shades from the floral print that I used for the runner’s border. The pretty flowers make every meal into a celebration!
Some flowers are just so pretty that they need to be used in several different projects! The “Flower Garden” applique block was originally designed to use in our uber-girly “Puppy Park” baby quilt. I just love how the pretty flowers show off the cute puppies on Susan’s quilt!
Tea party time! Relax and enjoy a nice cup of tea and some sweets. The flowers are blooming, so let’s have our party outdoors! I decided that the flower garden block, with its fun flowers and a buzzy bumblebee, would be just perfect for my tea cozy (shown above). And, since I had lots of extra fabric, I made a fun table runner to go with the tea cozy! Flowery and feminine, our churn dash table runner features fun flower appliques and some fun flowered fabric! The flowers on the table runner are a larger version of the posies from our “Flower Garden” applique block, so they coordinate beautifully with the tea cozy. Our blog post provides more information about this fun to make pattern.
This easy pieced baby quilt has appliqued flowers on (almost!) all of the blocks. I love the combination of pink and gray, with little touches of orange to add some sparkle! I made this quilt as a gift for my friend’s little granddaughter, Abi. Isn’t it adorable!
Our sweet little elephant quilt has flowers too! You can read more about it, right here! The flower appliques and feminine floral fabrics make a sweet quilt for a new baby girl, and the elephant adds a fun touch of whimsy.
Our “Jumpin’ Jungle” quilt pattern features a riot of vibrant pieced flowers, along with a crew of amazing Amazon jungle creatures. You can read more about it, right here!
Update: Our giveaway has ended! Congratulations to our lucky winner, Kathleen H, who is the happy recipient of a free copy of our “Flower Garden” applique pattern.
We hope that you’ve enjoyed today’s tour of our quilt-y “flower garden”! Do you have a favorite flower, or a favorite flowery quilt that you’ve made (or admired, or hope to make), eventually? We’d love to hear all about it in the comments.

I love the flower applique and I agree that it is perfect for using in several different projects. I don’t have a favorite flowery quilt because there are way too many that I would love to quilt.

So many cute projects! I especially like the elephant and flower baby quilts. My favorite flowers are gerbera daisies, but when I try to grow them they usually get eaten by deer who have invaded our neighborhood.
