Welcome to My House!

Hi Fellow Quilters,

Welcome to our “house”!  We’re so glad that you’ve come to visit today.  Have a seat!  Can we offer you something to drink?  Would you like a snack too?  We love having our friends stop in for a chat!

We’re really excited to participate in the “Welcome to My House” blog hop, hosted by our friend Carol at Just Let Me Quilt!  You’ll find links for all of the participating blogs at the end of this post, so take your time and enjoy yourself.

When we heard about this blog hop, we started thinking about designs that we’ve made that include houses.

Our farm quilts each include a barn, a house for the farm animals!

Our new Christmas tree skirt pattern has fun Victorian houses, for the mouses!

But I wanted to make something especially for the blog hop, so I created this fun table runner!

Welcome to My House TR 2018 Ms P Designs USA

I love the Victorian house designs that we created for our new Christmas tree skirt, so I started by making one block of each style.

I decided to make my houses red and green, since this is a Christmas table runner.  The house backgrounds have “snow” on the bottom and “sky” on the top.  I included two snowy trees on each house block, just for fun!

I’ve always loved basket weave designs, so I decided to make a simple basket weave panel for the center of my table runner.

The basket weave section was made with strips of fabric sewn together and then I cut the strips into sections to make the blocks.  Easy to make, and so pretty!

I framed the pieced section and applique blocks with a deep green tonal print, and added a pretty red print binding to finish off the table runner!

We’re so glad that you stopped in for a visit today!  How do you welcome visitors to your house?  We’d love to read your comments.  Please come back and visit again, real soon!

Happy quilting,

Sharon and Susan

  1. What an adorable Christmas table runner! I should have thought about the barn being the home for the animals since I was raised on a farm. Thanks for the reminder and memory. Thanks for participating in the wonderful hop and getting it off to a great start!

  2. Oh My! What a fun Welcome to your Home it will be at Christmas to see the cheery runner on your table. It’s beautiful. I really love the sky/snow background. Thanks for being part of the hop. I enjoy welcoming friends to our home. Beverages and snacks or a place at the dinner table are always offered as well as plenty of hugs. Guests are always welcomed and enjoyed.

  5. Your farm quilts are so darn cute – love the barns/homes. That table runner is the best with it’s Victorian houses and the snow. They are exquisite.
