Hi fellow quilters,
Welcome to our November Block of the Month! If you’ve been with us all year, we hope that you’ve enjoyed the monthly patterns. If you’ve just joined us, then “Welcome!” We’d love to have you join our Facebook group and post your BOM photos. Block patterns from previous months are available from the 2018 BOM posts.
November is here, at last! The signs of preparation for the holiday season are popping up everywhere, and it seems to begin a bit earlier each year. I love browsing through the aisles of Christmas ornaments, the beautiful wreath-making supplies, and (obviously) the Christmas fabric. I love hearing the Christmas music (but usually not until December please), and getting ideas about the gifts that I will create and give to my friends and family.
This month’s block is an easy pieced Christmas Wreath block! Wouldn’t this make a great gift for someone on your list?
I chose a cheery green and red Christmas print for my wreath, and a white-on-white snowflake print for the block background. This block is super-easy to make, with quick-piecing techniques that are suitable for every skill level. The embellishments were fun to choose too – I decided to applique a few holly leaves, and sewed on some tiny button “berries”. Of course, you can decorate your own wreath however you like – that’s what I love about quilting! It would be beautiful adorned with ribbons and lace, or beads and sequins, or even some tiny Christmas light bulb buttons- use your imagination
You can purchase the wreath block in Ms P’s Pattern Shop!
Here’s the miniature quilt that I made using the “Christmas Wreath” block:
I added a narrow white border around the block, and then a pretty solid green border. The pieced QST border in red and white enhances the center block. The green binding is the same fabric that I used for the inner border. I’m excited for December to arrive so I can display this little cutie. The pattern is available for purchase from Ms P’s Pattern Shop!
Thank you for stopping by for a visit today! I hope that you’ll enjoy making your Easy Wreath pieced block. If you’d like to share a picture or see the pictures of projects from other quilters, please join our Facebook group and post your quilt photo. We love to read your comments! Have you tried out any of the BOM patterns yet? Your feedback would be appreciated.
Until next month- Happy quilting,

What a nice, quick simple wreath. The borders on the mini quilt really set it off. The preview of the elephant blocks for next year are so cute.
