12 Days of Christmas – Day 7

Hi Quilting Friends,

I hope that you’re enjoying our “12 Days of Christmas” blog series! I had lots of fun with choosing the projects to share with you.

Today’s quick and easy project is a cute insulated casserole carrier, perfect for taking your special dish to share at a small holiday get-together.

I found the instructions for my carrier on the “My 3 Monsters” blog. Of course, I couldn’t just make my carrier according to the instructions; I decided to create something unique and whimsical.

I started by creating a patchwork outer cover, with our “Gifty Elf” applique on a 7″ square of background fabric. I framed the square and then used a set of 5″ precut squares from Moda (cut down to make 2.5″ squares) to enlarge my piece into a rectangle large enough for the cover. I followed the easy instructions to make the rest of my casserole carrier. I can’t wait to use my new casserole carrier!

Giveaway time! Congratulations to Robin K, winner of the “Gifty Elf” applique pattern!

The “Gifty Elf” applique pattern is available from Ms P’s Pattern Shop!
