Welcome to the “Tickled Pink” blog hop, hosted by our quilting friend Carla at “Quiltin’ in the Sticks”. (Thank you for hosting, Carla!)

Our challenge for the blog hop was to share something pink, something that tickles us, or any combination of the two. We hope that these jokes will tickle you!

“We have a friend who composes songs about sewing machines. He’s a Singer-songwriter.”

“We have a friend who claims that she holds a world record for quiltmaking. We suspect that her whole story is fabricated.”

We’d tell you another sewing joke, but we’re running out of material.

Susan is tickled pink to introduce her new quilting pal, Rosie, who has taken up residence in Susan’s quilting studio-in-progress. (You can see Rosie, standing near the windows.) We’re still getting acquainted with Rosie, and we’re positive that she will be a valued member of the Ms P team. Welcome Rosie!

And look what Rosie and Susan can do together now! (The fabric is pink-ish, and we’re tickled about it!)

Susan’s studio isn’t quite finished yet, but we promise to give you the “two-bit virtual tour” when the final touches are in place. It is going to be AWESOME, and we’re both “tickled pink” to have a space to enjoy.

With all of the excitement around here, we’ve been lax on finishing a new project to share for the hop this month. Sharon decided to make something PINK with our new foundation pieced tea cup pattern, and here’s a picture of her teacup block –

Sharon chose a tradtional cabbage rose print with lots of PINK, fabric had had been in her stash forever, for the focus of her block. (Doesn’t it remind you of an old-fashioned teacup, like Grandma used when she entertained special guests?) Sharon added a deep PINK accent fabric and a gray blender background to complete the block. She added some steam curls with black embroidery floss.

This block is going to become a pretty, feminine tea cozy, with additional touches of PINK and some very girly lace! Sharon is using the pattern that she used for her previous tea cozies.   4. I enjoyed seeing all your pink projects. The teacup block looks amazing and will be great on a tea cozy. I enjoy my Lipton black tea most, 2nd would be Bigelow’s mint. Thanks for sharing!

  13. The teacup really does look like the cups my grandmother used for her “club”. Club was an affair that lasted from 10 until 2, with coffee, tea, and usually two or three pastries. The preparations started two weeks early, as the house had to be cleaned from top to bottom, closets and medication cabinet included as these ladies snooped!. All pastries were handmade. I remember visiting in the evening after club and how she would break out the bourbon for my dad and herself as she broke down the event and decided how to make it better next time. I was glad that this event was held at her house only about once every 13 to 14 months.

  15. Rosie looks like a wonderful addition to the sewing room and it looks like your stitching is pretty amazing already. I love that gorgeous teacup that really does look like ones my grandmother had. Thanks for sharing!

  17. Love all your pink treats!! Congratulations on Susan’s new friend! She will love it, I’m sure. Though, occasionally there is a love-hate relationship at times – at least with my Avante!

  19. How exciting for you! Rosie looks content near the windows. Love the pretty tea cup. I have a small collection of tea cups on top of a cabinet in my sewing room. Would love to make a tea cup wall hanging some day. My favorite tea is probably Earl Grey. I have at least one cup of tea a day, not always the same kind though. Thanks for sharing!

  23. Thank you for the inspiration. ( My husband has been hinting that we need a tea cozy) Lemon Ginger is popular for chilly nights but my favorite morning time tea is English Breakfast.
