Here Comes the Sun

Welcome to the “Here Comes the Sun” blog hop, hosted by our quilting friend Carol at “Just Let Me Quilt”. We’re looking forward to seeing all of the sunny quilting projects during today’s hop, and we hope that you’ll enjoy our project too.

Today marks the summer solstice in the Northern hemisphere, which means that today will be the longest day this year. (It is the winter solstice in the Southern hermisphere, and their shortest day of the year.) So get outside and enjoy some sunshine! Here’s one of our favorite sunshine songs-

Our 2022 quilt-along is called “Sunshine Sampler”, and Susan chose cool blues and sunny yellows to make this pretty quilt-

Susan’s fabric colors remind us of sunny summer days! Susan and Rosie have started quilting this lovely sampler, so we’ll share a picture when they have it all finished. Visit us on alternate Mondays to see each new block as it is presented.

Sharon enjoys walking in her neighborhood year-round, but especially in the summer. When spending time outdoors in the heat it is important to stay hydrated, so Sharon stitched up a colorful insulated water bottle carrier to keep her water cool and convenient. How refreshing!

  9. Your slideshows are always a treat to watch. The sunny colors and the design on the quilt are totally perfect for this hop…love it! The water bottle carrier is a quilter’s dream for staying hydrated on walks. You both rocked the theme on this one!

  10. I LOVE that the days are so much longer and hate that they shorten up way too soon. I think the water botte carrier is perfect and I thought all the bright colors were the best.

  16. Great projects and I love the quilt. I am not a fan of walking outside when it is really hot, and lately it is even too hot early in the morning, but the water bottle carrier is awesome.
