Hi Quilting Friends,
Today is going to be EXTRA special as we celebrate Day #6 of our “12 Days of Christmas” blog series AND the “Virtual Cookie Exchange” blog hop. We’d like to thank our quilting friend Carol at “Just Let Me Quilt” for hosting another wonderful blog hop. This is going to be SEW much fun!
The challenge this year was to post something that is related to Christmas; Christmas quilts, Christmas food, Christmas cookies, Christmas traditions, Christmas stories. . . (Really, just about anything that says “Christmas” would work!)
We don’t know about you, but during December we struggle to avoid dietary over-indulgence. Everywhere we go, someone is offering special holiday treats. They are SO delicious, SO tempting, and it feels SO rude to refuse them. What to do?
Sharon here.
What if I told you that you can enjoy wonderful holiday treats? Calorie-free. Fat-free. Sugar-free, but still perfectly sweet! What if I told you that I will share this secret, on this post. Today. Are you ready to have your mind blown?
Let’s get started!
Susan created this adorable set of gift card holders, featuring Ginger Kids! Each one is as sweet as can be, and would make a wonderful gift for that special someone who enjoys choosing their own presents. (We all have someone like that on our list, don’t we!) Ready for your close-up, Ginger Kids? Here we go!
The gift cards were all made with scraps of wool felt, with touches of embroidery and tons of “bling” with sequins and beads. SO cute, and they don’t take long to create. As promised, these little treats are calorie-free, fat-free, and sugar-free but SO perfectly sweet! All of the Ginger Kid patterns are available in Ms P’s Pattern Shop!
Update- Congratulations to Nancy L, winner of the Ginger Boy giveaway! Giveaway time! Enter for a chance to win one of the gift card stocking designs that are featured in today’s post (your choice!). Entries will be accepted through December 7, and the winner will be notified via email by December 9. Good luck!
Please take some time to visit the rest of today’s participating bloggers; the list with links follows this post.
Thank you SO much for visiting today! Do you have a favorite Christmas treat? Something special, just for the holidays? Leave a comment; it makes our day.
Happy quilting,
Susan & Sharon

Well, of course, I forgot to mention my favorite Christmas treat. My favorite treat is having my family around but the next favorite is the Cream Parisian Wafers. I keep having to increase the recipe because everyone likes them, too. This year, I went triple the batch for the wafers and 4 times the frosting! 🙂

You can’t go wrong with those gift card stockings as treat!! Look ma, no calories!! LOL I really do think they are just precious. Loved the Christmas past pics. Looks like Rowdy was really admiring those cookies! I love just plain short bread (tea cake) cookies all decked out in icing and fun additions!

Thanks Brenda! Yes, you had me at “no calories”. I’m really missing my baking assistant & cookie thief this season; he always had an eye out for goodies, and didn’t care a whit about the calories.

Your Ginger Kid stockings are just too cute. Perfect way to give those gift cards! My favourite Christmas treat has always been shortbread cookies. One of my earliest memories was of baking them with my Mom and kept the tradition going with my kids and grandkids and hope to keep going with the great grands. 😉
