Christmas, in July!

Hi Quilting Friends,

We hope that you’re having a great July! Even though it seems that December 25 is a LONG way off, it isn’t too early to get a start on those quilted projects for Christmas. Whether you’re making a gift for someone special or creating a unique decorative item for your own home, July is the perfect time to get things underway. To that end, we’re here today to provide a few project ideas (in case you’re stuck).

For Giving

Do you have someone on your Christmas list who is impossible to shop for and hard to please? Gift cards are easy to give, and you can make your gift more personal by packaging it in a pretty gift card stocking! Susan designed a series of adorable felt applique stockings that are sized perfectly for gift card giving. The empty gift card holders make lovely ornaments for the Christmas tree.

For Your Table

Today we’re showing off our newest Christmas creations, two unique sets of pieced placemats! The patterns are both available in Ms P’s Christmas Shop.

The “Christmas Ornaments” place mat set features two sizes of foundation pieced ornaments, with a pieced film-strip border.

You could use scraps from your collection of Christmas fabrics to stitch your own unique Christmas place mats. If your guest list is large, keep the background fabric the same in order to use both sets of place mats when you set the table for holiday gatherings.

For Your Mantle

Santa is sure to be generous with goodies when he fills these beautiful Christmas stockings! The felt appliques are embellished with sequins and beads to add some sparkle to your holiday home.

For Cozy Cuddling

Snuggle up with your sweetie for an evening of viewing your favorite holiday movie! A mug of hot chocolate, a sugar cookie or two, and a cozy quilt make the picture complete. Here a a couple of our favorite snuggly Christmas quilts-
