Hi Quilting Friends,
December is usually a frantic time at work! While most of my students are quite diligent about keeping their grades up by studying for their tests and turning in their assignments, I always have a handful who slack off until December. They become desperate about a week before final exams, hoping for a Christmas miracle.
Carolina Chain Quilt
I’ve started putting the Carolina Chain blocks together into rows for my quilt top. Here’s a progress photo with almost half of the blocks stitched into their rows-

I’m having lots of fun playing around with the blocks. It seems like every time I move one around to make things look better, I end up with another spot that isn’t what I wanted. I hope to have time to finish up the top during my Christmas break from school, which begins on December 22. (Yay!)
Happy quilting,
Sharon
Your Carolina chain quilt is looking great. I also find moving blocks around only leads to more blocks having to be moved! I am a retired teacher so I can appreciate how much you are looking forward to 22nd. december!

Your Carolina Chains is looking great! Getting the blocks for a quilt “just right” is one of those quilting challenges. I struggle a bit with it too. Just when you get one section looking right you discover another section needs adjusting.

Thanks Laurie! I’ve snapped some photos of my design wall with the quilt in progress, since that usually helps me to “see” issues when I’m playing around with the blocks.
