Hi Quilting Friends,
The color of the month for August is ORANGE. You can read about what I made earlier this month with my ORANGE fabric scraps HERE.

Zip Bag
I searched through my orphan block stack and the bags of leftover pieces from other projects that I have lying around for everything ORANGE, and these were my starting point for this month’s zip bag.

As you can see, I had two small pieced blocks, a couple of flying goose units, and a scattering of small HST squares, all in ORANGE. I also had a pile of ORANGE scrap pieces that I used to supplment the pre-pieced sections. I really enjoy putting random elements together to create my zip bags, so this was lots of fun! I usually aim for around 9″ x 9″ square before quilting and trimming the pieces. I quilted the sections with light gray thread, using a circuitboard pattern.
I had intended to take photos of my work in progress, but (as usual) I was having way too much fun to interrupt my work for a photo shoot. Perhaps next time. . .
At any rate, here’s my finished ORANGE zip bag-

Happy quilting,
Sharon
You made quick work of creating a lovely home for all those scraps.
