Hi Quilting Friends,
Welcome gnome! We’re excited to join the “Gnome for Thanksgiving”, hosted by our friend Joan from MooseStash Quilting. We’re thankful to Joan for everything that she has done to organize these fun blog hop events.
Here’s the challenge-
To “Gnome” them is to love them! Throw a little Thanksgiving twist into your “Gnomie” project! Or anything that shows you’re thankful.
Happy Thanksgiving! It’s nearly time to gather with friends and family, and to be thankful for our blessings. Sharon will be hosting our family Thanksgiving gathering this year. Here are a few of the autumn designs that we’ve created, all available in Ms P’s Pattern Shop!
Sharon here today, with my happy little gnome helpers! They’re all set to share a few things for which they are thankful.
This gnome is thankful that Autumn is here, with it’s magnificent colors.

These gnomes are thankful for pumpkins, which are both decorative and delicious!

These gnomes are grateful for the blessings of friends and family when we gather together.

Now for some information about today’s quilting project!
The “Autumn Star” table topper starts out with an easy pieced Maple Star block, surrounded by simple narrow borders. Each end of the table topper features colorful appliqued oak leaves with acorns and berries to create a festive fall table. (Gnomes are not included.)
- Finished size = 14″ x 26″
- Skill level – Confident Beginner
- Includes
- Piecing instructions (with photos) for Maple Star
- Applique templates
- Step by step instructions for making the table topper
- $11 USD

The fabrics that I chose for this project were inspired by the colors in the sparkly autumn striped fabric that I “liberated” from Susan’s stash. All of the applique and star block pieces are Toscana from Northcott Fabrics, and the creamy print background is “Apple Cider” from P&B Textiles.
I quilted the star block with matching thread, and then added free-motion pebble quilting in cream thread on the backgrounds. The binding is the same stripe as the borders.
I haven’t had the time yet to play around with this design, but I think that it would be quite easy to modify it to suit one’s needs. For example, if you need a longer table runner, just add more star blocks. If you want a set of place mats, omit one of the applique panels and re-position the pieces on the now-vertical panel.
We’re thankful that you’ve taken the time to stop in and read all the way to the end of this post, and we hope that you’ve enjoyed seeing our project. So, what are YOU most thankful for? Drop a comment; it makes our day! Keep on reading to find the list of today’s participating bloggers.
Happy quilting,
Sharon & Susan

So I’m thinking you like Gnomes. Do you have them for other seasons too or just these cuties. Great little table runner for holiday celebrations. Your little buddies look like they are celebrating already.

Yes, I love gnomes but I don’t have many. There’s a gnome quilt that I made for Christmas several years ago, and these little guys, plus another who came from my Grandma (he lives in the garden when the weather is fine). 😉 Ms P Designs USA

Thank you! I love to decorate indoors with autumn colors, since we rarely have any outdoor colors (except green or brown) on our trees. Happy Thanksgiving to you! Ms P Designs USA
