Hi Quilting Friends,
My “One Monthly Goal” for September was to quilt at least four of the outside edge triangles on “Lone Star”. I pieced this quilt in the ’90’s, and then it languished on a shelf for many years. I began quilting it in 2024. It feels like it’s almost time to get serious and take “Lone Star” across the finish line. 😉
Each triangle required around 2 hours of stitching, so I caught up with “Outlander” on Netflix as I quilted. I watched an episode (or two) on afternoons when I wasn’t otherwise engaged, and before I knew it. . . Ta-done!
As of today all of the eight edge triangles are quilted, and I couldn’t be more excited to keep going on this project. Here’s the photo finish of one of my quilted triangles-

My next decision involves the quilt’s corners, and I’ve been considering my options. I wish that I had just one quilting template that would do the job on its own, but I’ll likely need to combine at least two templates to make this work out to my satisfaction.
Each corner includes three large squares, so there’s still quite a lot to quilt. I feel motivated to keep on stitching, so you can probably take a guess as to my October goal. 😁
Until next time,
Happy quilting,
Sharon
Congrats on all the progress!

Congratulations. I love how this is looking. It takes so long to hand quilt. I admire your continuing on with it! Thanks for sharing with us at Monday Musings.
