December OMG + RSC 2025

Hi Quilting Friends,

The RSC challenge for December was to turn collections of blocks into finished quilts, and my “One Monthly Goal” for December was to finish up the quilt that I’ve made with the Rolling Stone blocks.  Ta-done!

I shared the progress on my Rolling Stone block collection during November. Read more HERE.

My first step, after basting the layers with safety pins, was to stitch in the ditch around each block with clear monofilament thread to stabilize everything.

I quilted the blocks with my walking foot using this combination of straight and slightly curved lines.

The binding is solid black Kona cotton to frame the finished quilt and pull the scrappy setting squares together. Astrid approves.

I’ve decided to call this quilt “Satisfaction”, after the Rolling Stones’ hit song.  (It’s made with Rolling Stone blocks, after all!) The finished quilt is 54″ X 54″, a nice size for a lap quilt.  I’ve written up the pattern for either a scrappy or controlled pallette, in case you want to make your own version.

It was, all in all, a very satisfying finish!  I hope that you’ve enjoyed seeing it as it grew.

Happy quilting,

Sharon

  1. I love it, Sharon!! I’ve enjoyed seeing these blocks come together this year. It’s so pretty and colorful. And Astrid’s approval is key!! Her pose reminds me of my grandmother and aunt. They would never look directly at the camera – always off to the side! LOL Anyway, great quilt!
