August RSC 2023

Hi Quilting Friends,

The RSC 2023 color for August is sunshine YELLOW! I generally use just a small amount of YELLOW in my quilting, since it has a way of drawing attention to itself. I have a YELLOW scrappy basket, and I found plenty of pretty scraps to use this month.

Carolina Chain

I stitched up 14 YELLOW Carolina Chain blocks, 7 light and 7 dark, which brings my total blocks to 309 out of 310 needed for the quilt. I’ll probably stitch a few more blocks, just in case I need a bit more variety. Here are the new YELLOW blocks-

Rolling Stone

And here’s my sunny YELLOW Rolling Stone block-

And with this, my summer is officially (almost) finished. I’ll be back to work on August 14 for two weeks of meetings & preparation, and then my new students start classes on August 28. Summer never seems quite long enough for me.
