Hi Quilting Friends,
Where has the time gone? I’ve been SO busy at work and at home that poor Princess Nina must be wondering if I have forgotten about her. I did get a little sewing done in September, but not to the extent that I usually manage.
We had a couple of nice day trips in September; one to Lake Conroe and another to Jamaica Beach. We did some doggy sitting for our son, went to dinner with Susan and her husband, had game night with our neighbors, and spent a lot of time walking with Freya and Astrid. Whew!
I’m working hard at school to learn my new class (pathophysiology) content, and then create and implement activities for the students. It’s challenging, since I’ve never taken a pathophysiology class. The days fly quickly, and I never seem to catch up on the workload!
Here’s my update for September-
PHD in 2023 Projects
Project #13 – Diamond Star Quilt (Again)

I recently watched a quilting video from Christa Quilts, “Infinite Wavy Spiral”, so I’m going to attempt this technique for my Diamond Star quilt. Fingers are crossed that I’ll like the results. I haven’t started quilting yet, but sometimes just making a decision feels like progress.
New Projects
My “One Monthly Goal” for September was to finish piecing three new foundation pieced vehicles and publish the patterns. Ta-done! You’ll find the patterns in Ms P’s Pattern Shop!
I made seven kennel quilts from my scraps and shared them for the “It’s a Dog’s Life” Sew It Show It challenge-
I’m choosing these little kennel quilts as my “Favorite Finish” for September!

The “One Gift a Month” challenge for September was a cute little tote bag, made with a fat quarter. I decided to use a contrasting fat quarter for the bag lining, and so I made two little bags. Freya and Astrid heard a highly suspicious noise on the driveway, so they photobombed my picture. (It was only Mr. Fix-It, working in the yard.)

My “One Monthly Goal” for October is to finish the project that I will share for the Sew It Show It challenge on October 25. I have a project started, so Ready, Set, SEW!

And here’s my updated PHD tally for September-

Happy quilting,

You’ve done a fantastic job on your PHD this year, Sharon! I’m managing to finish most of my starts, but am lagging in the UFO department! Ahh, I remember pathophysiology from my nursing school days! I bet you are making the class interesting for the students. Have a great October!

Thanks Brenda! I enjoy seeing your creations, both new and UFO. Patho would sure be easier if I had taken a class, so I will just do the nest that I can with it. 😯

What lovely work in September! Wishing you luck with October sewing. Sounds like you are having a great time even if not sewing as much.
