Hi Quilting Friends,
Welcome to the “Monster Mash” Sew It Show It challenge, hosted by our friend Joan at MooseStash Quilts. This is going to be SEW much fun!
Our challenge this month was, obviously, Halloween. Our project could be spooky, or not. Here are several of our fun & “spooky” Halloween projects from the past several years. All of the patterns are available in “Ms P’s Halloween Shop”, if you see something that you simply can’t resist.
Sharon here. It is always a treat to see bats flying overhead when I’m out on a walk at dusk. Did you know that a bat can eat up to 1,200 mosquitoes in just an hour? That fact alone makes me a huge fan of the bat! I’m also a fan of the Count, and I love this little ditty-
Can you guess what my project is for this challenge?

This spooky tea towel features our Mexican free-tailed bat, originally a block from our “Southwest Critters” quilt. I made the bat from my black and gray scraps, and appliqued him onto a fun Halloween print background. I purchased just half a yard of the print, and pulled from my scrap bins to find the border and accent strip. I’m pleased with my new tea towel!
Still Sharon here. I couldn’t resist sharing this photo, even though Mr. Fix-It thinks that it is very silly. We have such pretty little flowers in the yard this fall; Freya and Astrid are ready for “trick-or-doggy treat” on Halloween! (No chocolates for these girls! Mommy gets to enjoy those instead.)

Thank you so much for stopping by today! We hope that you enjoyed seeing our selection of Halloween projects. Please leave a comment; it makes our day! Keep on reading to find the list of today’s challenge participants.
Happy (spooky) quilting,
Sharon & Susan

Thank you! I’m pretty sure that the girls don’t want to be flowers for more than a few minutes, unless there are treats. . . 🙂 Ms P Designs USA

That bat…love it! It is always fascinating to see the bats flying overhead, but now that I know they are eating all those bugs, I’m even happier watching them. Your dogs are sooo cute! Thanks for sharing!

Thanks Carol! I was never sure about bats, but the enemy (bat) of my enemy (mosquito) is my friend! I’d love to have a bat house in the backyard to encourage them to feast here. 😁 Ms P Designs USA

Bats are SO cool! I haven’t seen them in a quite long time, but that’s probably because I’m getting out at the wrong time.
