Hi Quilting Friends,
October has flown by, as months tend to do when life gets busy. Mr. Fix-It and I celebrated our anniversary with a day trip and lunch with Nathan and Gaby in Kemah.

Mr. Fix-It and I took a road trip to Beeville, TX, to see the annular solar eclipse.

We enjoyed a trip to the Texas Renaissance Festival in Todd Mission this past weekend with all of the “kids” (Ian, Nathan, Gaby, Alex, and Kristen). I enjoyed the “Birds of Prey” and magic shows most, along with seeing so many people in elaborate costumes.

Whew! I actually had to take a day off from work in order to spend some quality quilty time with Princess Nina. She seemed very happy to see me. 🤗. Here’s my October update-

Project #13 – Diamond Star Quilt (Again)

I have finally started quilting! I stitched in the ditch around the yellow triangles to anchor the layers in position. After that step was finished, I started quilting a wavy spiral, beginning in the center of a flower. The wavy spiral adds a ton of texture, and the quilt is looking fabulous (in my opinion)! The backing is a gorgeous floral print that looks like summer. Here’s an in-progress photo-

My “One Monthly Goal” for November is to finish quilting the wavy spiral. Ready, Set, SEW!

I made a cute applique tea towel for the Monster Mash Sew It Show It challenge, featuring our Mexican freetail bat applique. (This was also my “One Monthly Goal” for October.)

And the pups are celebrating their first Halloween with us, in costumes that I made for them! (Mr. Fix-It believes that I’ve completely lost my mind, but I respectfully disagree. The girls needed to have costumes for trick-or-doggy treat!)

Ongoing Projects
The “Rainbow Scrap Challenge” color for October was light neutrals, so I chose to work with DARK GREEN along with white, which is a light neutral. I also continued to put together the small Carolina Chain squares into sections of 4 blocks each.

Coming Soon!

Your spreadsheets look awesome, Sharon…and you have made your PHD!!! Congrats! It sounds like you had a lovely October with fun trips. I wish Chloe would just lie down and sleep when we take her for a ride, but NO, all 75 pounds of her wants to sit in a lap, so one of us sits in the back LOL!!! I think they look sew cute in their costumes! Have a great week!
