Hi Quilting Friends,

Welcome to the Turkey Trot Sew It Show It challenge, hosted by our quilting friend Joan at MooseStash Quilting. We’ve enjoyed seeing everyone’s projects this week, and we hope that you’ll like ours as well.

Autumn in Houston is inconsistent. Some years we have perfect temperatures, and the trees put on a spectacular show, like this-

Sometimes we go from summer straight into winter, and the leaves just turn brown. This year the oak trees have produced a bounty of acorns, and the squirrels are going nuts over them, LOL.

And now something new. Susan’s new quilting studio includes a bedroom, perfect for an overnight guest or two. Of course, the space needed to be welcoming and cozy, so Susan decided to design coordinating bed sets for each season. Today we’re excited to showcase her Autumn bed set!

The sweet little bear loves the rich colors of autumn, when the temperature finally drops low enough to cuddle. The autumn pillow features a gorgeous applique with acorns, berries, and colorful leaves, surrounded by a simple checkerboard border.

The bed set includes the pattern for the pillows, along with pillow shams and a nice big runner for the end of the bed. (You could use the runner on the Thanksgiving feast table instead of your bed, if you like.) If you’re interested, you can find the pattern for the Autumn bed set right here-

  6. I am totally WOW’d by this bed set…it is gorgeous! I love it! I may have to book a night at Susan’s quilt space just to feel spoiled and pampered in that sweet setting. You both continue to inspire me with all your creativity. Thank you for all the years we’ve been hopping together. Happy Thanksgiving, Susan and Sharon!
