Hi Quilting Friends,
Welcome to the “White Rabbit” Sew It Show It challenge, hosted by our friend Carol at “Just Let Me Quilt”. Here’s this month’s challenge-
On the first day of each month, there is a tradition for people to say “white rabbit” first thing in the morning. The phrase is supposed to bring good luck for the rest of the month. Even President Roosevelt did this! Make something with white fabrics, rabbits, or white rabbits. What is a tradition you follow?
Sounds like a fun challenge! We’re going to stick with the “white” part of the challenge today, although we have nothing against rabbbits. In fact, here are a few of our past projects that feature rabbits!
All of the patterns for the items in our slide show are available as instant downloads on our new website “FunQuiltDesigns.com”.
Back home in Montana where we grew up, January usually brings snow. Lots of snow at times, creating a white blanket that covers the mountains and the valleys. Along with snow, we see snow bunnies on the mountain ski trails, icy ponds with skaters, and children building snowmen in the front yards. It’s truly a winter wonderland!
Do we get snow in Houston, Texas, where we live now? Not often, although we had some light snow flurries last week that shut down the entire city for a couple of days. It doesn’t take much of that white stuff to cause a heap of problems around here!

We’ve moved on from “winter” to “monsoon” season, and that’s more manageable.
Our project for this challenge is our “Winter Bed Set”, continuing Susan’s plan to dress up the guest room bed in her studio for each season!

The bed set includes a pretty bed runner with pieced blocks and applique snowflakes, along with a pair of pillow shams and two cute snowman throw pillows. Susan’s little bear is cozy in her knitted winter hat, but she’s going to stay inside today where it’s nice and warm. (The studio is a wonderful creative space, perfect for a bear and her quilter!)
The sparkly white snowflake appliques blended a bit too well into the white on white background fabric, so Susan added a pale blue outline stitch to help them stand out-

The pillows are SEW cute, with their appliqued snowmen-

The pattern for the “Winter Wonderland” bed set is available in Ms P’s Pattern Shop, if you’d like to make one too.
Thanks for visiting! Please drop a comment- it makes our day. Don’t forget to visit the rest of today’s participating bloggers to see their projects too.
Happy quilting,
Sharon & Susan

Such cute, cute patterns. Loved the bedroom bed all decorated with a wintery scene. Here in Iowa, we had TWO snow storms hit within just a few days – 20 -24 inches and then the cold hit. Today, it was in the low 30s and we thought spring!!

Thank you! Wow- that’s a LOT of snow. Our brother in Montana said that he’s enjoying spring; the temperatures are finally above zero, LOL. Stay warm! Ms P Designs USA

Blue and white are a perfect combo for a winter bed room set. The snowflakes turned out nicely. Our daughter is at TX A&M, she worked from home during the ice, but her roommate (who is from S. Dakota) had living things in her lab that needed attention. She said the roads were nasty, but the drivers with TX license plates that had obviously never driven on the stuff were the worse part of the drive to campus. Monsoon season isn’t fun, but at least everyone knows what to watch out for.

Thank you! We avoid driving here when the roads are slick, because some of these Texas folk have troubles driving even when the sun is shining, LOL. Ms P Designs USA

Thank you! I’ve heard that if you don’t like the weather in Montana, just wait a few minutes. I suppose one could say the same for Texas too, LOL. Ms P Designs USA
