Welcome to the “GIve It a Whirl!” Sew It Show It Challenge, hosted by our friend Carol at “Just Let Me Quilt”. Here’s our challenge-

Life can send us spinning sometimes, so let’s put those spins and whirls to good use in a quilt. Make something with pinwheel blocks, circle quilting, or whirly gigs. Try not to whirl out of control!

Our first original quilt design, “A Day at the Zoo”, features pinwheels. One might say that spinning and whirling come naturally to us at Ms P! Here’s “A Day at the Zoo”–

Susan has been busy creating a few new designs for Spring, which officially arrived in Houston earlier this week. Spring represents new life, including baby animals, budding flowers, buzzing bees, and breezy weather. Today’s new design is a pair of pretty pillows, each with a cute pinwheel at its corner-

The baby bunny and little duck are surrounded by flowers and a buzzing bee! With simple appliques and easy piecing, the pillows can be finished nicely in two shakes of a lamb’s tail. (And another design idea is born, just like that!)
