Hi Quilting Friends
Time to check in on those 2024 goals, as Q1 has wrapped up. A big “thank you!” to Yvonne @ quiltingjetgirl for hosting the planning party! Let’s see how things are going so far. . .
My Goals for 2024
Goal 1- Play With Toys
I have toys (patterns, rulers, gadgets, etc.) in my studio that I haven’t played with (yet). My goal is to choose a toy, play with it, and post about my project.
Update– Nope, not yet. Maybe next quarter.
Goal 2- Play With Scraps

My goal was to use scraps to create at least 3 scrappy projects, and then write a post about my creations.
Update- Mission accomplished, and exceeded. Here’s what I’ve made from my scraps, so far-
Goal 3- Play With UFOs
Even though my UFO collection is much smaller than it was a few years ago, I still have a stack of several UFO quilts. My goal is to choose one of these larger UFOs and take it across the finish line.
Update– Nope. Not yet. I haven’t even decided upon which quilt I’ll finish this year.
Goal 4- Play With Online Friends
My goal was to participate in several regularly-scheduled activities, including-
- “Sew It Show It Challenge”
- “One Monthly Goal”
- “Rainbow Scrap Challenge”
- “PHD in 2024” (I’m the host this year!)
- “#2024 Q1 Checkin” (This post is my Q1 update.)
Update- Progressing as expected. You can see links to my most recent posts for each activity on the list above.
Goal 5- Play Outside
My goal was to take at least 30 minutes each day to enjoy the outdoors and get some exercise. I was hoping to do this 6 out of 7 days (85.7% completion of the daily goal).
Update- According to spreadsheet that I use as a tracker, I have met my goal for 82.4% of the days so far. Spring is always a challenge for me, because I have allergies to nearly everything that blooms in Spring. I’m feeling a LOT better this year, thanks to my allergy shots, but indoors is a healthier choice for me on those “extremely high” pollen days. Next quarter will be better, and I can still make my original goal with fewer “skip” days going forward.
How are you coming along with your 2024 goals? Do tell! I love reading your comments.
Happy quilting,
Sharon

It’s early yet, so you still have time to make good progress on the goals you’ve set aside for now. Congrats on all the progress. Fingers crossed second quarter is even better.

You’ve done well using your scraps! I need to work on that too! I really love the second and fourth quilts that are waiting to cross the finish line! Have fun!

It looks like you are well on your way to meeting or exceeding your goals for they year. It’s fantastic that you have made so many projects from scraps. The weather can make getting outside a challenge (and yes, pollen is a huge hindrance for sure), but you have still had a great percentage of days outside and that’s really wonderful. Thank you so much for linking up and I hope that by checking in quarterly it helps you feel confident in your choices as you continue forward in the year.
