June RSC 2024 #1

Hi Quilting Friends,

The color of the month for June is BLUE. I have LOTS of BLUE scraps, with no end in sight to my supply! I pulled out the BLUE scrappy basket to see what I could use for this month’s projects.

Here’s what I’ve been making with my BLUE scraps!

Rolling Stone Block

Here’s my new Rolling Stone block! I love this shade of BLUE, since it looks & feels like summertime.

Place mats

My BLUE place mat for June has turned into a pair, now in progress. I had a stack of HST squares leftover from this quilt, made several years ago to feature our football-themed blocks-

I made a couple of pieced star blocks with several of those leftover HST squares, and then tucked them away in my orphan block bin. The place mats are made with the orphan blocks along with scraps of coordinating fabrics from my BLUE and YELLOW scrap boxes. I still need to quilt and bind them, which should happen with in the next week or so. Here’s what I have so far –

I’ll share updated photos of the place mats when they’re finished. I’m still considering how I want to quilt them. . .
