Hi Quilting Friends,
Our prompt for this week was “Stars”. I have a star-themed start with the “Fireworks” block, surrounded by a large “Sawtooth Star”, so the fun with stars continues!
This week I decided to take a right turn with the quilt center, and set it on point. (Maybe.) And then I stitched up four “Ohio Star” blocks to place in the triangular corners.

I had intended for my “Ohio Star” blocks to have red star points, but I cut out too few red squares and too many white squares when I set out to make the quarter-square triangles. (Blame it on the Benadryl!) I went ahead and stitched out the first star block, and decided to just go for it! The first two rounds have a LOT of white fabric, so I think that adding more RED turned out to be a better idea after all, despite my “mistake”.
Here’s a photo of my quilt, with Rounds 1 through 3. I haven’t actually stitched it together yet, because I still need to add several triangular areas around those “Ohio Stars” to finish out the corners.

Perhaps my luck will hold and I’ll be able to incorporate the prompts for the next round or two to create the corners of the quilt. Guess we’ll just have to wait and see what happens next!
Happy quilting,
Sharon
It’s always satisfying when a mistake ends up working. Those blocks are pretty!

Thank you! I really shouldn’t cut fabric when I’m taking antihistamines, LOL. Ms P Designs USA

Haha – I know what you mean! I have a cold, and need to be working on my border for next week. Going to wait a few days until my head is a bit more in the game, hopefully!

Nice blocks, Sharon. I’m combining rounds into one border as well. Fingers crossed it works for both of us.
