Hi Quilting Friends,
I have enjoyed participating in the “Stay At Home Round Robin”, hosted by Quilting Gail and friends. Each weekly prompt provided a new challenge, and my design progressed in directions that I didn’t anticipate when I started out.
Here’s a slide show with pictures of my progress for Rounds 1 through 6.
The red, white, and blue color palette was inspired by the center block, an “orphan” leftover from a previous project. All of the fabrics that I used (except the backing) were from my stash or scrap bins.
Here’s a photo of my completed quilt top, before quilting and binding.

I have learned that the most challenging part of FMQ is deciding upon which designs to quilt, and where to quilt them. I’m happy with my choices for the SAHRR quilt (which probably needs a unique and descriptive name), and I had fun with the quilting!
Here’s a close-up picture of the quilting for the center square, plus Rounds 1 and 2, where I used a variety of straight line and FMQ patterns –

Round 5 is quilted with a straight grid pattern, which is a little hard to see here, with wishbones quilted inside the white and red borders –

Rounds 6 and 3 have more “fancy” straight line quilting –

And finally, Round 4 (the final border) with spiral chain quilting –

The binding is the blue blender that I’ve used for Rounds 4 and 6, as you can see in my finished quilt-

My “One Monthly Goal” for March was to finish this quilt. Ta-done!

I want to take a moment to thank Gail and the rest of our hosts for organizing this challenge. I have enjoyed it!

Congratulations on such a beautiful finish! I really like how you allowed yourself the freedom to move the prompts around to what fit the quilt best.

You did a great job on your SAHRR. It was interesting to see that you did add the borders/sections each time you made them… I like the slash and sew where you put it. The whole quilt looks unique. Terrific job. It might be time for me to join in again next year.

Thank you! Part.of.my challenge was that I decided to work only with fabrics that I had on hand, so that limitation forced me to change up the order for adding the parts.
