Hi Quilting Friends,
My “One Monthly Goal” for July was to hand-quilt at least one square on my “Lone Star” quilt. Ta-done, and we’re here today to celebrate!

I ended up quilting two squares during July, with only one more square to go, thanks to a number of rainy afternoons this month.
As you may know, my progress on this project had been stalled out for quite a while. I don’t really have a good excuse for this; I’ve just been busy with other things and uninspired.
Part of the reason for my slow progress is Katniss. I’m not sure if she wants to “help” or if she believes I have made a comfy cat bed, just for her–

Katniss looks so contented that I hesitate to remove her, LOL. I’ve started folding everything up and storing my quilt in a big tote bag between stitching sessions to discourage this sort of thing.
Astrid and Freya also feel the need to be close to me whenever I sit down, so there’s generally at least one dog under (or on) the quilt while I’m stitching. This presents a challenge when it’s time to re-position the quilting hoop. (That’s what I get for being so popular with the pups!)
I know that my momentum will build as I get closer to the finish line for this project; I can already feel it starting. I just need to keep going if I want to see it through to the end. Like anything else, I have to put in the work to see results.
Happy quilting,
Sharon
I’d so much rather piece than quilt, so I get the lack of motivation. I have one quilt as you go project I’m trying so hard to convince myself to finish. Fingers crossed we both find the motivation soon!

Isn’t it funny that no one ever wants to disturb a sleeping cat? We’ve been feeding some feral cats on our back deck, and my husband puts of going out to light the grill for supper if one of those kitties is on the deck eating or napping. LOL

Thank you! This is my oldest UFO, so it will be great if I can finish it up.

Well, Katniss is making herself right at home. I can see why Astrid and Freya might be a little jealous and want more of your attention. Great job on reaching your OMG! Thanks for sharing with us at Monday Musings.

Thank you! Yes, it’s quite the competition for lap space around here, LOL. Astrid usually wins, as she is the most “spicy” of the three pets.
