Hi Quilting Friends,
I’m excited to participate in the “Stay At Home Round Robin” again this year. I enjoyed the challenges in 2025, and made this quilt-

The challenge for this week, as presented by Gail @ Quilting Gail, was to choose the center block for our 2026 SAHRR quilt. Here’s mine!

This pretty 9″ by 9″ oak leaf and acorn applique block was left over from my “Autumn Splendor” throw quilt, finished in 2025 (below).

My first layout idea for “Autumn Splendor” required 13 applique blocks, but I changed the layout after the blocks were stitched and used only 12 of them to make the quilt. Perfect! This block won’t linger in the orphan block bin any longer.
I’m currently sifting through my scraps and stash for additional fabrics that I can use to turn this lovely block into a quilt filled with rich Autumn colors. I can’t wait to see what our first prompt will be!
If you’re standing on the sidelines, it’s not to late to get into the game and play along with SAHRR 2026. I know that I’ll enjoy the creative challenge!
Happy quilting,
Sharon

This year’s quilt will definitely look different from last year’s. That’s one of the fun things with this challenge. Looking forward to see how your version develops.
