Hi Quilting Friends,
The Rainbow Scrap Challenge color for February is GREEN. I have a LOT of GREEN scraps in my scrap bin, so it was easy to find plenty of materials for my February blocks.

Zipper Bag

My (large) GREEN zipper bag started with a pair of orphan blocks. I set the blocks on point, and then added strips to frame and enlarge the center of each panel. When the panel was wide enough, I added more GREEN strips to the top and bottom of the bag to make it the right height.
I decided to get “fancy” with the quilting on this bag, as you can (maybe) see in the photo below.

The lining for my GREEN bag is a piece from my stash, probably from the ’90’s.
I used two orphan blocks, and about 1/2 yard of scraps and stash fabrics to make this pretty bag. It will be a Christmas gift for someone special.

Happy quilting,
Sharon
Impressive Sharon. That sweet bag will be a treasure for that someone special.

It’s nice to use up those left over on such practical bags. Hope that help clean up the odds and ends a bit.

Thank you! I probably need to find a much larger project if I want to see a reduction in my scrap bins. I’m having fun with the bags though. 😊
