Hi Quilting Friends,
The challenge for this week’s round, as presented by Gail was “2 colors”, with the option of a neutral fabric if desired. This would be easy, except for the part where I have to chose only one option. 😊
I was visiting my parents on Montana last week, and arrived home quite late on Friday. (My life has been a little bit crazy/busy this past month!) Richard and I had an “interesting” trip home, with several gate changes and flight changes before we finally landed in Bozeman (only 3 hours late). Since Mom is still recuperating from her hip replacement in December, we didn’t get out much except to go to the grocery store or to her PT appointments. Our visit was relaxing, with plenty of time to play cards and visit with friends. We even had some snow while I was there!
I spent some time on Saturday afternoon perusing my quilting books for inspiration, and ended up choosing this “Pleated Ribbon” border design in two colors for my Round 5. Ta-da!
I selected deep red and olive hand dyed fabrics for the pleats, along with the neutral that I’ve been using for my previous rounds. The border was quick and easy to make, which is a definite plus for me.
After Round 4, I arranged the rounds on my sewing table, and decided that I wanted a do-over for Round 2. I like the fabrics that I used for those double 4-patches, but they aren’t quite right with the other rounds.
And so. . . Round 2B, with the rest of my SAHRR-in-progress! (Round 2A is destined to become a zipper bag later this year, so my efforts won’t be wasted.) I’m still thinking about how to put the rounds together into a table runner, and I have several ideas at the moment. You’ll have to wait to see.

Thank you! I’ve felt bad that I’ve attached only Round 1 to my center, but avoiding “Jack the Seam Ripper” is definitely a benefit of my lack of time.

Looking good, Sharon. Can’t wait to see it come together after you add the final prompt this week. I’m glad you had a good trip to visit your parents and though the delays were not great, they could have been worse I suppose. And you got snow! We had a lot of thunder over the weekend so I wouldn’t be surprised if we didn’t have snow in April. At least that’s the old saying, and I’ve seen it happen before! Have a great week.

Thank you! Montana has had a very dry winter, so they were all excited to see some snow. Lack of snow is a predictor of an active forest fire season, so that’s not a good sign.

I thought of you more than once in the last couple of days, as we did some traveling for family, and as I carried my Round Five with me to work on (didn’t get enough time, though, to finish). I’m glad to hear the trip went well, and that you got your brother home in time to see some snow. I really like those pleated ribbon blocks and look forward to your final arrangement. Welcome home!

Flying can be such an adventure these days, but mostly it’s a lesson in patience. Glad you got there and back safely. Your SAHRR is really coming together. Looking forward to seeing the final project.
