Hi Quilting Friends,
The challenge for this week’s round, as presented by Anja, was “Quilter’s Choice”. We may choose to add whatever we want to our SAHRR project-in-progress.
Now that my care-giving and travels have (mostly) come to an end, I have sufficient time to play. However I have other ongoing projects with deadlines coming up, so I’m going for the quick finish on my SAHRR 2026 project. That’s not usually my style, but needs must.

I didn’t have sufficient fabric on hand to frame out all of the parts for the runner, so I made a quick trip to the local quilt shop last week. This beautiful green batik makes a lovely frame, and there’s (hopefully) enough fabric left for my binding. If not, then it’s back to the quilt shop for more! (Such a hardship, LOL.) I have one more border that I’ll add around the outer edges, and then my project will be ready for quilting. If life stays quiet, I should have plenty of time to quilt before the SAHRR Quilt Parade in late March. Yay!
If you want to view my progress through all of the previous prompts, here are those links-
Center Block: Free Choice
Round 1: Pinwheels
Round 2: Make it a Double
Round 3: Animal Kingdom
Round 4: Curves
Round 5: 2 Colours
Now that Round 6 is completed, we have about 3 weeks to finish up our SAHRR projects. If you want to see what the other participants have done, have a look HERE. The SAHRR 2026 Parade of Quilts begins on March 25, so don’t forget to come and see!
Happy quilting,
Sharon
What a pretty runner! I’m glad you were able to find that pretty green for the border. Looking forward to seeing how you quilt this up!

A very fun SAHRR and something different. I think several of us opted for “reduced” work loads on this year’s SAHRR due to conflicting deadlines.

Judging by the comments, you obviously have echoed what a lot of us were feeling — somehow this year’s February seemed to level many of us! I like your table runner and the blocks, and just green with envy that you have a fabric shop nearby to run to: it all worked out! Lovely finish!

Thank you! I agree; February was a lot for many of us, so I’m for a nice calm March for everyone. 😊
