Hi Quilting Friends,
Welcome to my little part in the SAHRR Parade of Quilts! You’ll be able to see the other participants’ projects RIGHT HERE. I need to take a moment to thank our hosts! The “Stay At Home Round Robin, 2026” has been both challenging and fun, and I appreciate the opportunity to stretch my brain, use my scraps & stash, and practice my skills.
I have encountered some time constraints and challenges during the past two months, and I couldn’t always see how I would get across the finish line on this project in time for the posting deadlines. It makes me very happy to say “Ta-done!” Here’s my finished project for SAHRR 2026.
I had about 0.25 yards left of this gorgeous autumn print, so I added a simple border to my runner as I considered my quilting plan. I decided to treat each section of the piece individually, varying the quilting as I worked. Here are a few photos of the “bands” to show the quilting-
Which “band” is your favorite? I keep changing my mind each time I stop to admire my finish. 😊
The binding matches the pretty green batik fabric that I used for the sashings and inner border. The finished runner measures 18″ by 54″, and was made from my scraps and stash, except for the half yard of green batik fabric that I purchased for the sashes and binding.

In addition to my runner, I made a scrappy zipper bag from my leftover SAHRR migrating geese panels, batik scraps, and the last scraps of my gorgeous Autumn print fabric.
And here’s a second bag, made with leftover double 4-patch blocks! They are too pretty to be abandoned, left to languish in my orphan block drawer so now they are part of another bag. 😊

Oh, I’m so glad you were able to finish your runner, and it’s gorgeous! All of the quilting looks good to me, since I am not good at free motion of any kind! And a pouch and a bag from the leftover pieces is a fun bonus! Thanks for joining in with us again this year!

Your SAHRR turned out beautifully. How fun to make a table runner, it’s challenging to find something that the sewing load doesn’t wear you out during the challenge. You made good use of the left overs. Those fabrics are just too pretty to put back in a drawer.
