Stash-Bustin’ Scrappy Sampler – Block 1

Hi Quilting Friends,

Welcome to the “Stash-Bustin’ Scrappy Sampler” Sew Along! You can learn more about the Sew Along by visiting the “Stash Bustin’ Scrappy Sampler” page.

Today’s block is called “Thistle Bloom” or “Scottish Thistle”. This block has seams that must be matched during construction. Don’t try to rush it; take your time and be precise with your cutting and sewing! You’ll be making several flying goose units as well as some half-square triangle (HST) squares, using our precision piecing methods. Here are pictures of our Thistle Bloom blocks:

The “Thistle Bloom” block is 12″ by 12″ square. You may purchase the pattern right here for just $3 through January 10. After January 10, the price will increase to $4 so don’t delay!

Stitch up the “Thistle Bloom” block and show us a picture of your gorgeous block to receive the 12″ by 12″ square “Starglow” block pattern (shown below) as a reward. You must submit the reward form by January 13 to earn your free pattern.
