Hi Quilting Friends,
Project #7: Make a throw with my “Diamond Star” blocks

My “One Monthly Goal” for December is to stitch at least 5 more of the “Diamond Star” blocks for this throw quilt top. I need a total of 15 additional blocks for my current plan.
New Projects
Red, White, & Blue Double 4-Patch
My “One Monthly Goal” for November was to add the borders to this scrappy quilt top. Done! I’ve also finished quilting and binding this project, and my husband has decided that it is his quilt now. (Perhaps I will wrap it up to place beneath the Christmas tree. . .) Here’s a photo of the finished quilt:

Coffee, Tea, or Me? Part 2, the Saga Continues

I had planned to choose this project as my “One Monthly Goal” for December. There are six block designs, each featuring a coffee mug with a miniature quilt block in the center. The blocks are all pieced, but they aren’t quite big enough for place mats. I’ll be adding borders to size them up. Good plan, right?
Unfortunately I didn’t purchase enough of the white print to finish them; I was less than 2″ short of having enough fabric to finish my project. I searched for the “Tipsy Squares” fabric online and ordered more. I was dismayed when, instead of black and white, the new fabric turned out to be dark gray and white. It is still very nice, just not exactly what I needed. Of course, it will find its way into another project, eventually, but don’t you hate it when that happens? (Note to self: Buy a whole yard next time!)
I’m not sure what I will do now, so it’s back to the drawing board to come up with “Plan B”. We shall see what happens next, but I can’t promise to do it in December. This one may be forced to carry over into 2022, due to lack of sufficient planning on my part.
RSC 2021 Update
I have a rather large stack of finished blocks from this year’s “Rainbow Scrap Challenge”, as you can see from my tracking chart. I feel like I’ll need additional “Sawtooth Stars” blocks, but the “String Blocks” and “Bonus HST Squares” are ready for a finish. Now to decide what to make with my stacks of rainbow awesomeness! I’m searching for inspiration, and may get something started during Christmas break.

Here’s my task list spreadsheet for 2021, with no changes since my last update:

And my UFO list for 2021:

Happy quilting,

Thank you! Not sure if I’ll have the time to finish them this year, but I shall try. If it doesn’t happen, then I have a start for 2022, right?
