Hi Quilting Friends,
Welcome to the 2021 Virtual Cookie Exchange blog hop, AND Day 9 of our “12 Days of Christmas” blog series! We’re glad you’ve joined us. Thanks to our quilting friend Carol at “Just Let Me Quilt” for organizing the cookie exchange. This will be fun!

The recipe that we’re sharing today came from our Aunt Ruth. Aunt Ruth and Uncle Larry lived just a few hundred yards from us, on the family farm, when we were kids. I remember going to visit when Ruth was making these delicious molasses cookies, and begging for a sample. (Or two. Or three. The cookies are just that good!) When I moved away to Texas, Aunt Ruth was kind enough to share her recipe with me. Every time I bake them, I think of her.

You can give the recipe a try! Click below for the downloadable “Molasses Cookie” recipe:

Thanks again for visiting! Make sure to hop on over to the rest of today’s participating bloggers for more delicious, mouth-watering inspiration.
Speaking of mouth-watering, my favorite cookie thief is hoping that I’ll just walk away and leave the cookies right here. . .

The place mat and tea cozy in the picture are projects that I made for our first “12 Days of Christmas” series, back in 2019. The appliques are part of our “Ugly Sweater Contest” series. This fall has been a little crazy, and I didn’t have the time to make something new for the blog hop.
We’d love to have you stop by again tomorrow for the next installment of our “12 Days of Christmas” series.
Happy quilting,
Sharon

I don’t know if it’s the cookies or the memories of special people that make family recipes so much fun at the holidays. I love molasses and will give this recipe a try! You know you had me at the Moose Tea Cozy! LOL!! He really is just the cutest thing ever!

Hi Sharon and Susan, too! Rowdy looks like he hopes you leave the room real quick. He’ll be a magician and make those cookies disappear! I love molasses cookies so I’ll have to give them a try. Rowdy approved. {{Hugs}} ~smile~ Roseanne

Molasses cookies are making a comeback! I make them for my family, they are awesome for a kiddo with nut allergies.

Thank you so much for sharing beautiful projects from the past and a great cookie recipe. Note to self- “get molasses on next shopping run.” Your cookie thief looks quite innocent and patient in that photo. My own dog, Annie, wouldn’t wait for me to snap a photo before being all over that plate of cookies. Thank goodness Rowdy waited at least for you to take an adorable photograph. I hope you have a wonderful holiday season with plenty of yummy homemade desserts.
