Hi Quilting Friends,
September is “National Sewing Month”, and we’re excited to join our friends Melva (Melva Loves Scraps) and Brenda (Songbird Designs) to celebrate our love of sewing! We hope that you’ll enjoy the projects that we’re sharing with you today.
First, our backstory!
Sharon and Susan both came to love sewing because of the example set by our Mom and our Grandmothers. We were 4-H kids growing up, and we both learned to sew from Mom. We both began quilting as young wives and mothers, in the mid-1980’s, each learning techniques and developing our own styles since we lived so far apart. We eventually (1994) worked things out so that we live much closer to each other in Houston, TX. We started our “Ms P” pattern design business in 2016, and here we are today!
The theme for this blog hop is “Get on Board with Sewing”, so we chose to feature our “Hibernation Vacation” quilt design-

The Bears have decided to skip hibernation this year, and have a family reunion at the beach instead. Sounds like fun to us!

Cousin Bear is having a blast, riding the wave pocket on his surfboard! He is totally stoked!

Papa Bear is stylin’ his best surfer look, just hanging out on the beach with his surfboard. Even a bad day surfing is better than a good day working!

Mama Bear has been looking forward to this vacation for a VERY LONG time! Go ahead and relax with a nice tall fruity beverage. Serenity awaits. . .
The patterns for “Hibernation Vacation” are available in Ms P’s Pattern Shop!
Have you ever made a project with felt applique? Susan has been having a blast, playing around with her wool felt, sequins, and beads. Today’ we’re introducing two of her recent projects!

Surf’s up! Do you recognize Papa Bear in his Christmas surfer gear? Ho, ho, ho, hang ten dude!

Gramma Bear is enjoying a few minutes of pure bliss while Papa and the cubs are playing in the surf!
The patterns for the Christmas stockings are available in Ms P’s Pattern Shop!
Who loves a giveaway? We ALL do! Click the link and follow the instructions to enter for your chance to win some lovely prizes. Good luck!
Thank you SEW much for visiting today. We hope that you’ve enjoyed getting to know us, and seeing our projects. Please leave a comment, it makes our day! The “Get On Board With Sewing” blog hop continues through September 7, so don’t miss out on the fun.
Happy quilting,
Sharon & Susan

Hi Sharon and Susan, your quilt is just adorable. We used to live near Houston, from Kingwood to Katy to Magnolia. We are in north Texas now. It’s nice to “meet” you. 🙂 I’ve been down a rabbit hole for the past 10 minutes perusing your patterns. They are gorgeous – especially Mimi’s Field of Flowers and Pieces of Christmas – love!

The bears are so fun and cute, and what a perfect use of a Snail’s Trail block to make the waves in the quilt, too!
