What is your organization system for works-in-progress? Is it functioning well for your needs at this time? Do tell! And feel free to “steal” ideas if you see something of interest to you. We would love to know how you organize your projects, so please add a comment.

Here’s my PHD update for April, with finishes for one PHD project and one new project, as well as progress on several more. I’ve had an awesome April.

As you can see, I have started adding the outline stitches in the top section.  I like how outlining makes the design come to life. I still need to find the “blending fiber” for additional outlining, according to the pattern, but I’m not sure where to begin looking. Any suggestions?

  1. You made a lot of progress in April even with all the activities. Since retiring, I’ve been learning how to best tackle all my older projects. I use a 5 drawer rolling unit to manage my current projects and project boxes to store all the inactive UFOs. I’ve recently added project bags to the mix. Since I go sew at the quilt shop one to two days a week, the project bags fit into my big project carrier I take when I’m sewing away from home. It does help to keep all the parts and pieces organized since I like to work on multiple projects at one time.

  2. I keep my in-progress projects in a combination of shoebox-size totes, baskets, and plastic projects boxes. I have a master list and an organized closet (at least for the quilting part of my projects). I, too, need my space to be organized and efficient. I continue to be impressed with all the things you do and accomplish. Thanks for hosting the PHD link up.

    1. I also forgot to mention that I have used Kreinik blending filament in the past. It comes on a spool. Or sometimes the pattern will tell you which colors to blend together.

    2. Thank you! I’m always impressed with the number of customer quilts that you get quilted each time you post. The system you use sound similar to mine. Happy quilting!
