Hi Quilting Friends,
The Rainbow Scrap Challenge for November is to assemble block sets and finish quilts. I’m currently working on the challenge, but I couldn’t resist making another scrappy zipper bag as well. These scrappy little bags are addicting!
Zipper Bag

I found some sections of “Migrating Geese” that I made earlier this year, so I decided to incorporate them into a medium zipper bag.

I added units to the leftover pieces, and then placed the migrating geese across the width of one section. Aqua strips on the top and bottom edges created the rectangular panel.

The other bag panel has two hourglass blocks and more aqua strips to create the length and width that I need.

I quilted the panels with aqua variegated thread, including echo quilting and free motion feathers, as you can see in the pictures above.
The zipper is gray, and the lining is aqua with purple dots, from my stash.

In other news, I’ve started quilting “Caffeine Addict”. It is going well, and looking good so far. I’ll share it soon!
I’m still debating whether or not I’ll be up to attending the Houston International Quilt Festival, which starts next Wednesday. I’d love to go and see it, but I’m still not sure that my foot is ready for all of the walking and crowds that Quilt Festival involves. Same with the Texas Renaissance Festival, which Mr. FixIt would love to visit. I’m supposed to be “taking it slowly”, so these activities are probably not the best of plans for me in 2026. Drat! Will any of you be attending Quilt Festival or Ren Fest this year?
Happy quilting,
Sharon
