Hi Quilting Friends,
Wow! Our first year of blogging has been quite an experience for us! We’ve learned a LOT, “met” some new friends, participated in several blog hops, and we’ve totally enjoyed the ride! Thank you so much for riding along with us! As 2018 rolls to an end, we thought that it might be fun to revisit a few of our most-viewed posts from the year. If you want to read more, just click the title or photo for each of the top 5 posts. So here we go with our top 5 countdown!
Number 5: Our September Block of the Month
The September Block of the Month was a fun foundation pieced pumpkin block, and lots of folks stopped by see it! Sharon challenged herself to create a pieced block to represent each month of the year for the 2018 BOM program, and then she made each of the monthly blocks into a unique miniature quilt.
Number 4: Our August Block of the Month
August’s Block of the Month was a pretty pieced leaf block, made in the beautiful colors of autumn. We don’t really get fall foliage (or weather!) here in Houston, so we compensate by decorating with colorful leaves (and quilts!).
Number 3: My Happy Place Row Along
This was our second year to participate in the Row Along event, hosted by Marian at Seams to be Sew. This year’s theme was “My Happy Place”, and our row is called “Under the Christmas Tree”, with appliqued mice, kitties, and puppies. Sew much fun!
Number 2: Our January Block of the Month
Remember those fun “Conversation Hearts” that you used to put into the Valentine’s Day cards for your classmates at school? Sharon’s January BOM featured cute paper pieced hearts with embroidered statements. This was our very first, ever, block of the month post! We’re so glad that our readers enjoyed it.
Number 1: Our July Block of the Month
Our July Block of the Month turned out to be the most-viewed blog post of the entire year. Here’s a photo of the sunflower block that inspired so many to visit our blog:
And that’s our quick review of the “Best of 2018”! We’re looking forward to 2019, and lots of quilty fun. We have a brand-new block of the month program called “Elephants All Year”, starting on January 1, as well as a line-up of new designs, blog hop events, and tutorials that we’ll be posting about in the New Year. We’d love to have you visit us again, real soon.
We’re joining our very first linky party with this post! Cheryl, over at Meadow Mist Designs, is hosting the party so you can visit her blog right here to see the rest of the 2018 posts. Won’t this be fun!!!
Happy quilting,
Sharon & Susan
Wow, so interesting! There’s no predicting, is there? Of these five, all good ones, my favorite was the row – it really DID look like fun!

Thanks Susan! I was surprised too; I had thought that we’d have more views from the blog hops that we did all year, but nope. Glad that you stopped by for a visit, and happy New Year!
