Hi Quilting Friends,
Welcome to the “Gremlins, Ghouls, and Goblins” blog hop, hosted by our spooky friend Joan! Our challenge was to create and share a project for Halloween. Bwa-ha-ha-ha!
Sharon here today!
Here’s a bit of mood music! I just love watching those zombies get down.
We’ve had plenty of fun for the past several years, creating spooky, creepy, and eerie designs, just for Halloween! The patterns for these scary creations are all available in Ms P’s Halloween Shop.
I made a pair of place mats for Halloween a couple of years ago, using our “Wonky Star” block and some scraps of Halloween-themed fabrics.

Two place mats will work for just my husband and I, but it’s not enough if we have gruesome guests for a spooky candle-lit supper. I decided that my project for this blog hop would be another pair of place mats, in case there are any goblins who want to gobble supper with us!

I stitched up two foundation paper pieced “Wonky Square in Square” blocks, and then framed them to make a nice rectangular place mat. I quilted with black thread and added a solid black binding to finish up the pair.

The “Wonky Square in Square” block is available in Ms P’s Pattern Shop. What a great way to use up some scraps!
Thanks so much for stopping by today! We hope that you’ll enjoy seeing ALL of the wicked and spook-tacular projects from all of the participating bloggers. Please leave a comment- it makes our day!
Happy (haunted?) quilting,
Sharon & Susan

Very festive and cute place mats and quilts. I love that polka dot fabric in the placemat borders.

These are sew cute! I always enjoy seeing your slide show of past projects too!! I love placemats, but we rarely eat at our table, plus it serves as my cutting table and is kept busy most of the time! LOL Thanks for sharing. I may have to make some for Thanksgiving and Christmas as that is about the only time we all actually gather round the big table. But I could make some for our TV trays! Have a great weekend!

Thanks Brenda! I’d bet that you could size them to fit your tv trays perfectly.

The fabrics for your placemats are so wickedly perfect for those goblins that may come to dinner. I love them all…the placemats, not your goblin guests. You met this challenge spooktacularly!
