Hi Quilting Friends,
The Rainbow Scrap Challenge color for August is YELLOW. I have a nice selection of YELLOW scraps, so here goes!
Coffee Mug
Oops! I already have three YELLOW coffee mugs, which is plenty for my project.
Instead, I opted to use PURPLE scraps for my August block, since I’ve only made one PURPLE mug.
YELLOW and PURPLE are complementary colors, so I guess this works out well. Here’s my new PURPLE coffee mug-
I also stitched up a pretty PURPLE FPP heart, since I’ve decided to use them in the project that I’ve planned for the coffee mug blocks. (I already made plenty of YELLOW hearts!)
Mr. Fixit and I attended an Astros baseball game last Friday with Nathan & Gaby. The home team won, we got to see several home runs scored, and they had fireworks after the game. It was a blast!

In addition to the ballgame, your scraps and scrappy fabric bin are a blast too! Sometimes you have to make an “executive decision” and work with what you need rather than what’s called for for the month. A perfect pivot and great new mug blocks!

Thank you! I like having a prescribed color each month for RSC, as it encourages me to use ALL of the scraps, but this project was begging for more purple. Who am I to argue? 😏
