RSC 2026: August #2

Hi Quilting Friends,

The Rainbow Scrap Challenge color for August is YELLOW. I spent an afternoon sorting through my YELLOW scrappy box, and I have it all organized now. Last week I shared my August coffee mug and heart blocks HERE.

Zipper Bag

My YELLOW zipper bag started with a pair of blocks from my orphan block drawer. I added YELLOW 1.5″ strips to the block sides to enlarge them for the bag panels.  I used more strips of fabric on the top and bottom of the panels to add some height.

I quilted the panels with pale yellow thread, using a “Circuit Board” meander.  A bright yellow zipper and lining from my stash completes the August zipper bag.  This is bag #12 for 2026!

I think that the new bag looks great with the Esperanza plant, which is currently showing off its brilliant yellow blooms!
