We Wish You a Merry Christmas!

Hi fellow quilters,

Sharon:  Today I’m not going to write about quilting, although I do love quilting!  I also love Christmas music!  From Handel’s “Messiah”, to Tchaikovsky’s “Nutcracker”, from “Silent Night” and “Joy to the World”, to “Santa Baby” and “I’ll Be Home for Christmas”.  There’s a radio station, here in Houston, that plays nothing but Christmas music all through December, and I enjoy listening because sometimes I hear a song that I’ve never heard before.  Here’s one of my favorites, and I hope that you like it too:

And this classical classic by Bach:

Susan:  I’m a fan of acapella groups!  My favorite is Pentatonix.  Here is a wonderful rendition of “Mary Did You Know”:

Let’s not forget the Sugar Plum music from Tchaikovsky’s “Nutcracker”, you can listen to Pentatonix’s version here:

Thank you for joining us on our blog these last few months!  We are having fun with it; learning a lot and “meeting” some wonderful, supportive people.  We plan to enjoy our time between Christmas and New Years, relaxing & spending some quality time with our families, so we won’t be posting again until January 2018.  Please look for our new 2018 Block of the Month program, starting on January 2nd.  (We’re SUPER excited about it!)

Wishing you and your loved ones a joyous Christmas, and a peaceful New Year.

And one more song!  Sing it with us!!!

“We wish you a merry quilt-mas, we wish you a merry quilt-mas, we wish you a merry quilt-MMMMMAAAAASSSSS!  And a Scrappy New Year!”

Happy Quilting,

Sharon and Susan

  1. What fun! Phoenix had a station like that, and I miss it. Sirrius does, too, but it doesn’t seem to include the classical and the religious hymns I love, or else I always manage to miss them. I’ve definitely heard some different songs there, though! Those are all good Christmas pieces. Thanks for sharing your favorites!
