Polar Pals

Hi Quilting Friends,

When our local quilt shop just down the street was going out of business (sigh!), Sharon and I found the cutest polar bear fabric with adorable little penguins, which I used for inspiration as I drew my little polar bears for this quilt.

Introducing our newest quilt, Polar Pals!

This is the first block that I drew.  This poor little fellow feels all alone on that big ice chunk!  I really wanted to say something cheery about the little guy and came up with this, “Friendship means that you are never truly alone.”

Wow, I found myself a theme!  And this isn’t just a polar bear quilt, it is a quilt about friendship!

“A friend is always there when you are skeered and can’t find your mommy!”

“Friends are always open to a good belly laugh!”

“Friends understand if you are shy!”

AND, last but not least … “Always keep your heart open to unexpected new friendships!”

Aren’t they the cutest?  Now what would be the perfect pieced block to go along with these cute & cuddly critters?  The North Star is always so beautiful, so I started looking for the perfect star to finish this quilt and came up with this one:
