Hi Quilting Friends,
Whew! We’ve just set a new record here at Ms P’s blog, with our “Twelve Days of Christmas” blog series; 12 days of posting in a row. (Woot! Woot!) This year we’ve joined the “31 Day Blog Writing Challenge”, hosted by Cheryl at Muppin.com , to hone our writing skills. So far, so good!
So, what do we do now that the “Twelve Days” have wrapped up? Today I decided to write a little bit about our next new adventure, the “Black & White Delight” quilt-along!
So what’s a quilt-along? I like to think of it as a sort of virtual quilting bee! We’ll get together each week, right here on the Ms P blog. We’ll share a cup of tea (or your favorite beverage) and maybe a nice snack (I adore chocolate!). And, of course, we’ll visit about quilting!
We’ll work together each week to complete a small part of our gorgeous quilts. We’ll share pictures of our works in progress, since we won’t be sitting together in person, giving encouragement and celebrating milestones together. (Think of it as virtual” show and tell”! We’ll even have some giveaways to encourage sharing!
Sound like fun to you? We sure hope that it does! Here’s photo of Sharon’s interpretation of the quilt pattern that we’ll be using for our very first quilt-along, “Black & White Delight”:
The skill level for this quilt is “advanced beginner”, which includes anyone who knows how to cut with a rotary cutter and stitch a consistently straight line with a sewing machine. We’ll be working on skills that you can apply to many of your other quilting projects! Sharon LOVES to use modern precision-piecing methods, so she will be sharing “How To” posts that explain the quick & easy methods that she used to stitch up her quilt top.
