Hi Quilting Friends,
I’m SEW excited to share our new nursery quilt pattern with you today. It is called “Big Puppy”.
I decided to design this quilt when I learned that my youngest son’s childhood friend Jeremy and his wife Holly were having a baby boy! I’ve known Jeremy since the boys were about four years old; he’s one of Nathan’s best friends. I was SO excited to learn that Jeremy was going to be a Daddy.

When I asked about their nursery theme, Jeremy’s mom told me “Country”. I’m not sure exactly what that means, so I decided to create this quilt with an adorable puppy applique in the center, since I know that both Jeremy and Holly love dogs. The colors are masculine and remind me of the outdoors, so maybe it is “Country”?
The big puppy on the quilt is an enlarged version of our “Farm Dog” applique block. With his larger pieces and simple shapes, the dog applique was fast & easy to stitch. I added a bone-shaped tag to the puppy’s collar for some fun.

Baby Luke arrived several weeks early, but I hear that he is doing well and has gone home with his Daddy & Mommy. I’m hoping to meet him soon!
