October OMG? Ta-Done!

Hi Quilting Friends,

My OMG for October was to finish up my “Guiding Light” wall quilt. Here’s a “before” photo:

The central part of the quilt is raw-edge applique, with clear thread and a straight machine stitch. It took a while to complete all of the appliques, with all of the detail and small pieces, but I had everything layered while I stitched so the only additional quilting was in the background and around the borders.

I will probably give this to my son, to decorate his new home at Christmas time. This will be his first Christmas in the house, and he doesn’t have many decorations yet. I think that he will love it!
