Susan designed and stitched this cute polar bear & penguin Christmas stocking for our great-niece Elianna. It is made with wool felt, and embellished with touches of embroidery, beads & sequins.

Now that Susan’s grandchildren are in middle school and high school, their gift wish list has turned from toys to cold, hard cash. Gift cards make a convenient gift that is sure to fit, but they seem so impersonal. Susan designed a set of adorable gift card holders, all made from felt with sequin & bead embellishments, to add some extra fun to a gift card.

These designs feature some of our “Polar Pals”, along with a precious pair of penguins. Stay tuned for additional gift card stockings, coming soon!

The process of making appliques with felt is surprisingly easy, and it is SEW much fun to play with the sparkly sequins and beads. Susan prefers to use wool felt for her projects, since it is available in a wide range of colors and is more durable than polyester felt. Give it a try! You may discover a new obsession. . .

Thanks for stopping by today! What are your plans for handmade Christmas giving? Leave a comment; it makes our day!

Happy quilting,

Sharon & Susan
