Hi Quilting Friends,
Welcome to Day 1 of our “Twelve Days of Christmas” blog series! We hope that you’ll check in each day for a visit, since each new day will feature new design, a fun holiday project, or a yummy recipe. Oh, and giveaways too! (Don’t forget to enter for a chance to win something nice!)
Susan here.
Today we are excited to feature a set of four new Christmas stocking designs, meant for people who celebrate Christmas as our family did when Sharon and I were children. Our nephew-in-law wants to be a youth minister in their church, so these new designs are dedicated to their little family.

I listened to this beautiful song many times as I sketched and stitched the stockings for Thea, Millie, Alyssa, and Nick-
I began this project by making stockings with angels for Thea and Millie. A Bethlehem star was perfect to brighten their stockings.

In keeping with the theme, I decided to create “O Holy Night” to celebrate the Nativity. Alyssa’s new baby, Amelia Michelle (Millie), was born on November 1, so Mary, Joseph and baby Jesus were perfect for Alyssa’s stocking.

Then I thought about kids’ singing “Away in a Manger”, all dressed up for the Christmas pageant at church, with Baby Jesus and the animals who spent Christmas Eve in the stable. Nick’s stocking needed to be “manly”, so I used lots of blue to make his stocking.

All four of these patterns are available in our shop and they’re really fun to make!
Update- Congratulations to Donna M, winner of the Nativity stocking giveaway! Giveaway time! Enter for a chance to win one of the stocking designs that are featured in today’s post (your choice!). Entries will be accepted through December 2, and the winner will be notified via email by December 4. Good luck!
Thank you SO much for visiting today! We’d love to hear about your family’s Christmas traditions, so please leave a comment; it makes our day.
Happy quilting,
Susan & Sharon

Our favorite Christmas tradition is to get together with my side of the family on Christmas Eve and all attend Christmas service together. The pews are getting to be many as our family grows.

Oh wow!! So hard to pick…I love them both! I think it would be Away in a Manger if I HAVE to pick ONE!! LOL They are all adorable. I love the angels as well. Our favorite Christmas tradition is our daughter’s family coming to our house for Christmas, opening presents, emptying out the little gifts in the stockings, and having a great lunch/dinner! That is our tradition each year. The DH and I also like to watch Christmas Vacation each year! Thanks for the opportunity to win one of these awesome stocking patterns.

It’s hard to pick a favorite tradition, but I think making eggnog with the family is probably my favorite these days.

Me too! I set it up on top of the piano, to keep the little ones from messing with it too much. ;o)
