12 Days of Christmas #2

Hi Quilting Friends,

Welcome to Day #2! Does your Christmas fabric stockpile look something like this? Truth be told, this is only the tip of Sharon’s “Christmas fabric iceberg”. Read on for a project that is perfect for managing your scraps.

Sharon here.

Do you have a gi-normous stack of Christmas fabric in your private textile collection? We know how it can happen. Those well-meaning quilt shops buy new lines of Christmas fabrics every year, and they are ALL so beautiful. The displays of perfectly coordinating fabrics are tempting, and we NEED to buy just a few pieces before it is all gone. We understand.

Who knows? They may just stop making fabric, some year. Best to be prepared, with plenty of material on hand for those projects that we plan to make, eventually. Oh, the lies we tell ourselves to justify our habits! LOL!

I created a beautiful quilt for Christmas, using some of my fabric scraps and additional yardage from my stash. These 4-patch blocks go together easily, and you may still have time to make this quilt before Christmas is here. Wouldn’t it make a great gift for that hard-to-please relative?

Thanks for visiting! Don’t forget to take a break from playing with your fabrics and stop by again tomorrow to see the next post for the “Twelve Days of Christmas”.

Happy quilting,

Susan & Sharon
