Hi Quilting Friends,
Happy New Year! Welcome 2022! Welcome Winter!
It is now officially winter in the Northern hemisphere, according to all of the definitions that I could find. Winter begins at the winter solstice (December 21) and continues until the spring equinox on March 20. The days are short, the nights are long, and the temperatures are cooler on average. If you reside in the Southern hemisphere, your seasons are reversed. All of this takes place because the Earth is tilted on its axis, causing an uneven distribution of solar radiation on Earth’s surface. (Is that enough science for today?)
At any rate, we hope that your winter season is off to a pleasant start. We’ve had record high temperatures in Houston since winter began, but we’re having a cold snap today so it feels a little more winter for now. Perhaps some snowy decorations will help us get into the winter mood?
Susan has been busy drawing and stitching again, and she’s come up with a cute set of applique coasters with a wintery vibe. Let it snow, we say!

Aren’t they adorable! Here’s a closer look –
The wintery coaster patterns are available from Ms P’s Pattern Shop, if you’d like to stitch up a set.
Thanks for stopping by! Do you have a favorite winter activity? We’d love to read about it in the comments.
Happy quilting,
Sharon & Susan
